On the other hand... If they were successful they'd fill up with members and you wouldn't be seeing the same chat (I presume) day after day.

However, local chat is amusing sometimes. On English Dist.1, there are usually a couple of LVL20 people spamming away funny talks, usually early in european morning...

Well, that's what it was. I was getting really bored, and I wanted to see if I could actually convince people of my newfound divinity.

After that, things sorta deteriorated when a warrior came up and started complaining about how "invincible" us monks are. After I proceeded to tell him that an in-depth description of our weaknesses would flood the chat screen, the monks started complaining about NR and other stuff.

I left soon after.

I agree 100% with this list, im not in town much, but i see messages like this almost every day... however id also add in "Where is merchant in this town?" and in cities that use to have arenas "Where is PvP in this place?"...

heh, some guild recruts make me laugh.. i saw one " Guild looking for more members, we have a pretty cape" i could not help but fall over laughing...

Just once, I'd like to see a guild with florescent pink capes advertise "recruiting for guild, we have leet capes of doom!" Heh...I sorta want a pink cape...can you imagine being killed by someone in PvP who's wearing a hot pink cape? >_>

Y'know - that sounds like a guild with a robust female membership - That might be one I'd actually consider if I were looking around.

- well, unless they were called, the CareBears [CB] and their capes were pink with a cute bear paw, or something like that, of course.
... then again... if they really kicked butt in HoH - it'd be a nice touch to join them with that intimidatingly cute cape design

I once saw a necro called, "Mista Pickles". He had the dark armor and a foofy pink + purple cape with stars on it. I just about fell out of my chair laughing.

Being a leader of the guild, I want to mission with people to find out if they are good or not, but 98% of the people that i like end up being guilded already. I hate recruiting in !all, and I'm not doing ti anymore, all I get are idiots that want money or whatever. If you are cool and layed back, please leave your crappy guild now, one of these days I will roll with you, and you can join mine =)

people put trade related posts into local chat because they want their stuff to stand out.(not that i advocate this of course) they are just trying to get a sale.

also when advertising for a guild you need to stand out...:
